Share3D Privacy Policy

Last Modified: March 22, 2013

This Privacy Policy provides the policies and procedures of QuadriSpace Corporation (“we” or “our”) for collecting, using, and disclosing your information gathered via the Share3D website, API, and online services (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy governs your access of the Services, regardless of how you access them. By using our Services, you consent to the collection, transfer, processing, storage, disclosure and other uses of the information you provide as described in this Privacy Policy.

The Information We Collect and Store

When you register an account, we may collect certain personal information, such as your name, phone number, credit card information, other billing information, email address, home address, and business address. You may also ask us to import your contacts by giving us access to third party services (for example, your email account or social networking account). If you invite others to join Share3D by using our referral page, we collect an email address to send the invited person a one-time email. You may also provide us with your contacts’ email addresses when sharing folders or files with them using the Services. We may also receive your personal information (for example, your email address) from other users, for example, if other users have tried to share a file with you or tried to refer Share3D to you.

We collect and store the files you upload to the Share3D Service (“Files”). If you add a file to your Share3D account that has been previously uploaded by you or another user, we may associate all or a portion of the previous file with your account, rather than storing a duplicate. When you send a comment using the viewing or commenting application of the Services, the uploaded comment may include a screenshot of the related 3d scene and data used to recreate the 3d scene for other viewers.

When you use the Services, we automatically record certain non-personal information about your Device, its software, and your activity using the Services. A “Device” is any computer used to access the Services, including a desktop, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, or other consumer electronic device. This non-personal information may include the Device’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, comment submitting application, browser type, the web page visited before you came to the Share3D website, information you search for on the Share3D website, location preferences, identification numbers associated with your Devices, your mobile carrier, system configuration information, and metadata concerning your Files and other interactions with the Service.

We also use “cookies” to collect non-personal information and improve the Services. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your Device when using the Services. Persistent cookies save your registration ID and login password for future logins to the Services. Session cookies are used to enable certain features of the Services, to better understand how you interact with the Services, and to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on the Services. You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting cookies from the websites you visit. If you do not accept cookies, however, you will not be able to use all aspects of the Services.

How We Use Information

We may use your personal information to provide, manage, personalize and improve our Services and to provide or offer software updates and Services announcements. If you no longer wish to receive communications from us, please follow the “unsubscribe” instructions provided in those communications, or update your account information.

Some of the non-personal information we collect from a Device, such as an IP address, may sometimes be used to approximate a Device’s location. The Services currently do not collect specific location information from your Device, but may do so in the future. Some photos and videos you upload to the Services may contain recorded location information. We may use this information to optimize your experience. If you do not wish to share Files embedded with your location information with us, please do not upload such photos or videos.

Non-personal information gathered may be used to monitor and analyze use of the Services, for the Services’ technical administration, to increase the functionality and user-friendliness of the Services, and to verify you have the authorization needed for the Services.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may display your personal information in your profile page and elsewhere on the Services according to the preferences you set in your account. Any information you choose to make public should reflect how much you want other users of the Services to know about you. Please consider carefully what personal information you disclose in your profile page and your desired level of anonymity. You can review and revise your profile information at any time. We do not share, sell, or disclose your personal information to third parties, except as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

We use certain trusted third party service providers to help us provide, analyze, and improve the Services (including data storage providers, maintenance service providers, database management providers, web analytics providers, and payment processing providers). These third parties may access to your personnel information only for purposes of performing tasks in connection with the Services on our behalf and under an obligation to keep your personal information confidential.

We may share your personal information with third party applications that you use to access our Services. We are not responsible for what the providers of those applications do with your personal information, so you should make sure you trust the application and that the provider of such application has a privacy policy acceptable to you.

We may disclose your personal information to law enforcement and other parties when we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with a law, regulation or compulsory legal request; (b) protect the safety of any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse; or (d) to protect our property rights. If we provide your Files to a law enforcement agency, we will remove encryption placed by the Services before providing them to law enforcement. However, we will not be able to decrypt any Files that you encrypted prior to storing them on the Services.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal and non-personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We may also disclose aggregated non-personal information based on your personal information, such as usage statistics for the Services.

Changing or Deleting Your Information

If you are a registered user, you may review, update, correct or delete the personal information in your account profile by changing your account settings. We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you Services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your personal information to provide you the Services, you may contact us. We may retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We do not delete Files from the Services that you have in common with other users.

Share3D for Multiple Users

If you have a multi-user account, your administrator may be able to:
  • access information in and about your user account;
  • disclose, restrict, or access information that you have provided or that is made available to you when using the multi-user account; and
  • control how your multi-user account may be accessed or deleted.

Please refer to your multi-user account's policies if you have questions about your administrator's rights.

Share3D Community

The Services include publicly accessible community services such as blogs, forums, and wikis. Any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access the Services. Your posts may remain even after you cancel your account.

The Services include links to other Web sites whose privacy practices may differ from those of Share3D. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by other privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any Web site you visit.

Information about Children

Our Services are not directed to persons under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time and the most current version will always be posted on our website. If a revision, in our sole discretion, is material we will notify account holders by sending an email to the email address associated with their accounts. By continuing to access or use the Services after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the new Privacy Policy, you must stop using the Services.
